Statement by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on the military operation in Ukraine

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will continue the special military operation in Ukraine until the set goals are achieved. The main task is to protect Russia from an external military threat from Western countries. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, at a meeting with the leadership of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Opening the meeting, the head of the military department recalled that in accordance with the decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President of Russia Vladimir Putin, from February 24, the Russian Armed Forces are conducting a special military operation in order to protect the population of Donbass, demilitarize and denazify Ukraine.
