Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu took part in a meeting of the CSTO Council of Defense Ministers. The main topic of the meeting was the conduct of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine. Shoigu said that this operation began due to the fact that the West did not take into account Russia's proposals to resolve key issues for our security. These are not questions of NATO expansion to the east and not the deployment of strike weapons near Russian territory, in Ukraine. The United States has set a course for the complete dismantling of the existing international security architecture, accompanying it with the global deployment of anti-missile defense systems and the development of medium-range and shorter-range missile systems. NATO has come close to the borders of Russia and increased its combat potential several times over.
Efforts were intensified for Ukraine's accession to NATO.
For 8 years, the Kyiv regime methodically shelled the cities and villages of Donbass. All attempts by Russia to force Kyiv to comply with the Minsk agreements were in vain.
