It was a day full of joy and laughter, singing and playing, a day full of love and eating yummy cake.
Born in September 2017, Kyrell Matthews lived with his mother, Phylesia Shirley in a one bedroom flat in Thorton Heath, Croydon, United Kingdom. Kyrell's father, Kyle Matthews, lived elsewhere.

Although non-verbal, Kyrell had an infectious wide smile and twinkling eyes, he loved to dance and he was a happy and cheerful boy. He would have been able to express his feelings and his pain even though he was non verbal.
Kyrell’s paternal step-grandmother Christine Ernest described Kyrell as very lively, a happy little character and the most loving little boy, always smiling.

Kyrell was not enrolled in nursery, so he would be in the full time care of his mum, then aged 21.
