In Nigeria, in practice, only shotguns are legal, only for hunting and sport shooting. They require a permit from the police and there permits may be denied for any or no reason. Yet, terrorists and criminals have zero problem getting illegal weapons (corrupt cops are a common source) – just like Mexico!
