Simple but Not Minimal | Living in a Small Space for 10 Years

Hi again my lovelies, and welcome back. It's spring, and to me that signals the need for thorough spring cleaning and closet clean out! I recently did a massive closet cleaning and organization to my space and so I thought I'd walk you through and show you how I organize my small bedroom as well as discuss thoughts on living simple not minimal.

For me, living simplicity at home means finding a balance in overall lifestyle with an emphasis on achieving and maintaining well-being for the physical, mental, and emotional aspects in each day.

Quality of life is so important and making sure that we stop and take time to practice self-love and self-care is essential to living simple.

Historical at the root, simple living is something we can see when examining our ancestral history and looking back in time. Embracing moments from our past, lifestyles that our forefathers would have deemed sacred, brings simplicity to the present.

Self-sufficiency, in addition, is a leading player in the realm of living simple not minimal. There are ways we can all practice self-sufficiency in one form or another. Planting a small garden, even one cultivated through pots, is a great way to make life easier without feeling dependent on other resources to get by. Cook your own food, save seeds for later propagation, can and store up food, use sustainable cloths versus paper products, collect rainwater, hang your clothes to air dry, create income through your hobbies - the list could go on but these are just a few ideas for pursuing simplicity at home.

Yolky London Fog Drink Recipe:

Ingredients -
Earl Grey black tea sachet
Yolk from 1 grass-fed pastured egg
1 tsp. cane sugar
3 tsp. raw milk or raw heavy cream (or any type of milk you prefer)
2-3 marshmallows
Cinnamon for dusting

1.) Place tea bag in your favorite mug and steep for 5 minutes in boiling water, cover with a plate to retain heat.
2.) Separate the egg yolk from the egg whites and place the yolk only in a small bowl.
3.) Add the cane sugar to your egg yolk and whisk for about 2 minutes until the consistency is creamy, blended, and custard-like.
4.) When the tea is finished steeping, remove the sachet and then whisk in your yolky cream.
5.) Add your milk (or cream) and then top with marshmallows and a light dusting of cinnamon.
6.) Sip and enjoy!

Info: The benefit of why I add my homemade marshmallows is that it provides a nourishing combination of collagen, maple syrup/honey, salt, and vanilla, all of which are rich in anti-inflammatory amino acid, glycine, and a great combo of protein and easily digestible carbohydrate. They also sweeten and act like a creamer but are much more nutritious and without artificial flavors and preservatives. Also delicious when added to coffee. You could simply skip the marshmallows and add in the ingredients instead, but marshmallows are so much more fun in my opinion!
