QUICK FIX For Baler Not Knotting (LONG BALES?!) #SHORTS

Nothing worse than being under the gun to get the hay BALED and OFF THE FIELD and then . . . it QUITS WORKING!

It's bound to happen at one time or another: your New Holland Square baler simply stops knotting the bales! The baler produces extra long bales, maybe even stretching out 20 feet long!

Don't worry, it's likely the knotter clutch!

New Holland square balers have several clutches that engage when "something isn't right". They are designed to shut the system down and prevent damage.

The knotter clutch system can be triggered when too much material (hay) is forced too quickly through the bale chamber. Too much pressure is applied to the twine and to prevent the twine from bending or twisting the knotters, the clutch is activated, causing the knotter arm to go limp.

Often, there may be TOO MUCH PRESSURE on the twine, preventing it from feeding freely to the needles. Sometimes the culprit is the twine box, which has an adjustable spring applying tension where they exit the twine box.

Just watch your fingers when you pop the clutch back into place! use a knife or a flathead screwdriver :)
