Chiefs OTAs Winners:
#1: Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR - Valdes-Scantling is reportedly building great chemistry with Chiefs’ QB Patrick Mahomes. MVS made several big plays at OTAs this week and is impressing head coach Andy Reid.
#2: Josh Gordon, WR - Gordon had a 50-yard touchdown catch on Thursday and reportedly put together a good final week of OTAs. The Chiefs WR room is deep and will be competitive, but it appears that Gordon is ready to fight for a spot on the Chiefs 53-man roster.
#3: Orlando Brown Jr., OT - Brown recently hired Michael Portner as his agent. Portner and the Chiefs have begun contract negotiations for the young left tackle as the two sides have until July 15th to get a long-term deal done. Brown has all of the leverage which means he’s about to get paid a ton of money by Kansas City.

Chiefs OTAs Losers:
#1: Shane Buechele, QB - Buechele has done some good things during Chiefs OTAs, but he did throw a pair of interceptions during Thursday’s practice. Buechele is currently the 3rd string QB behind Patrick Mahomes and Chad Henne. He’ll need to show a lot to prove he can unseat Henne as Mahomes’ backup quarterback.
#2: Frank Clark, DE - Clark was a no-show during Chiefs OTAs. Chiefs DL Coach Joe Cullen downplayed the significance of him and Chris Jones missing these voluntary workouts saying they’ve “been in contact” with the 2 veterans. Harrison Graham doesn’t believe it’s a huge deal, but Clark’s production has declined the past 2 years and he needs to bounce back in 2022.
#3: JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR - JuJu hasn’t necessarily done anything wrong, but there’s been little to no chatter around him. Kansas City invested in JuJu this offseason and they expect him to be a major contributor this season especially without Tyreek Hill on the team anymore.
