RARE BROKEN 🎙 Shure 55 Unidyne "ELVIS MIC" Found at Antique Store...Let's REPAIR and RESTORE IT!

I found this rare factory version of a Shure 55 (the 55AS) at a local antique store a while back. The Shure 55 Unidyne II is the "Elvis Mic", famous for being used by and pictured with the King early in his Sun Studios career. Countless other artists have used this model as well. In this video, we'll do some upgrade and restoration work on this old girl and discuss a bit of Shure microphone history. At the end, we'll test out how it sounds and see why this mic was so popular in its day.
