Today we will learn about Reading Comprehension and use my book called Awesome Reading Comprehension Level 1. I will show you how to answer reading comprehension questions the easy way. First, we will take a look at the questions for the story. When you answer reading comprehension questions, the best thing to do first is to read the questions. Reading the questions helps you know what to look for in the story. After we have looked at the questions, we can read the story once to try and get an understanding of what the story is about. Now, we will look back at the questions and try to find exactly what they need us to look for in the story.
I will teach you a trick on how to read a question see which part you need to find in the story. Hint: The verb/action is what is most important and the biggest key word on where the answer will be in the story.

Halloween is one of the scariest holidays of the year. In North America and Europe, children like to dress up in costumes and go out Trick or Treating. They go outside in the dark to get candy from their neighbors. However, the ghosts like to go out, too. On Halloween, ghosts are able to walk in the world of the living. You cannot touch a ghost because you will pass right through them. Ghosts are also very cold. When you are around a ghost, it will feel like you are next to an open refrigerator. Some ghosts are very scary and mean. Others are very friendly. There are two ghosts called The White Sisters. The White Sisters are very friendly. They walk around on Halloween night and watch all the children going out to get candy. When people see them, they think The White Sisters are just friends going for a walk. They are actually watching the children because many kids get lost on Halloween. When a child gets lost, The White Sisters help the child find their parents and friends. Many children never know they were helped by ghosts. The children who do learn The White Sisters are ghosts, learn the good deeds that ghosts do on Halloween night.
