Somerset West Fires

The Cape Winelands District Fire Services continue to battle the fire that started on the Lourensford Estate earlier this week. The teams spent Saturday night actively protecting properties behind the Mont Fleur area. Fire teams will continue monitoring and mopping-up activities throughout the day to ensure that flare-ups are quickly contained. The fire line in the inaccessible areas currently stretches from the area above Mont Fleur across the mountain into the Somerset West side.
