GRAPHIC. Very Bad Rain Scald Condition. Cleo's health is worse since Penny's death. Review of horses

Long discussion about Cleo's infected rain scald. Releasing the scabs from the skin has helped to get the sun and air to the infection and most of the pus is gone from yesterday.
I'm not applying another treatment to it right now, as she has had significant iodine treatment and it can hinder the healing and cause other issues with irritation to the skin. So while we have these nice clear sunny days, I'm allowing nature to do it's best work and feeding her supplements and really good feed to help her immune system. I'm also spending a lot of time with her. Petting her and scratching her mane. She enjoys that grooming and doesn't have a heard mate to do it any more. I need to give her more of my time to help her heal. She enjoys it, to some horses that is just stressful.

Arthur is still thin but hanging in there.

Cleo and Arthur are being fed 4 large scoops of Johnson's Old Timer with brewer's yeast and white willow bark powder for their gut and pain relief. They also get a biscuit of lucerne hay and pasture. Pasture is diminishing over winter. They may get more hay soon.

The brumbies are getting half a biscuit of lucerne hay per day to help with the cold and lack of winter pasture.

I spend some time with the younger mares who went missing.
