When new to the keto diet, adding healthy fat to keto meals can be confusing. But it's not hard. Healthy fat is a single ingredient fat -- not processed. A whole food.

Try these simple healthy fat sources:

1. Fatty meat. Don't trim the fat off.

2. Add butter.

3. Use olive oil in dressings.

4. Cook with coconut oil.

5. Eat avocado.

6. Eat cheese.

7. A can of coconut milk has 20 grams of healthy fat. It's cheap also.

8. Almonds, walnuts, macadamia nuts are high in healthy fat. But don't overindulge in nuts because they contain oxalates which can over time aggravate joint problems and even cause kidney stones.

Keto macros to aim for are as follows:
75% of your calories from healthy fat
20% of your calories from meat protein
5% from carbohydrates
