How to Make Onion Powder

Onion powder is such a great addition to your kitchen toolbox. Some of my (Marie's) children are a little picky about onions in their food. By using onion powder instead I not only avoid tears at the dinner table but tears cutting up the onions as well. In this video, Marie and Emmaline from Wisdom Preserve teach you how to make onion powder.

Onion powder can be made in a food processor or in a blender.

You will need very dry onions, dehydrated or freeze-dried will work.

Place two cups of dry onions in your processor/blender. Blend for 1 to 2 minutes. Makes 1/2 to 1 cup of powder.

Place in an airtight container. Store in a cool, dry place. Add to any recipe that you would normally use onions in.
