CONSTRUE THE MISCONSTRUED - A PLEA FOR AMERICA!

Plans on our nation’s horizon are oft’ just Dead Man’s Bluff.
Speeches of Utopia crumble, filled with words of fluff.
Outraged citizens loudly object, "Enough is enough!"
They are fed up and spent out.
Our current leaders are dead wrong!

Remember ones who have foolishly chosen wrong again.
Turn hurtful thoughts to positive ones as wisdom you gain,
Don't allow plans to be yoked with fools causing undue pain.
Forge a wider path of truth.
Stand firm and fight the good fight!

Truth seekers search valleys of deceit so others may know.
Bound and trapped are they while fighting a formidable foe.
Victory is far outweighed by misconstrued deeds of woe.
Weaken and break deceit’s chains.
We must correct the incorrect!

Light of day's clouded by pitch black delusions of what's right.
Plans go awry, chaos rules, common sense has taken flight.
Debates on issues are held to reinforce the good fight.
We must brighten wisdom’s path,
By stopping blatant arrogance!

Embrace truth as you evaluate tasks you must now do.
Place past misdeeds behind electing public officials anew.
Walking this walk will direct you to a fresh, healing view.
Demand justice and honor.
Cast votes for virtuous leaders!

Be encouraged by trials so often leaving others marred.
Shake the dust-off weary feet as weaknesses you discard,
Be proud as veracity of the movement you regard.
Uphold and preserve valor.
Balance now The Scales of Justice!

Eagle! Soar above the storm as man’s courage sets you free.
Gain we strength to unite and drink from cup of liberty
Hush thunder of complaints; enlightened flee captivity.
Welcome calm winds of virtue,
And climb higher in freedom’s skies!

Lies must be thrown into action's fire and thus purged away.
Dishonesty of deeds revealed as virtue paves the way.
Recoup lost honor as Mr. Henry we no longer betray!
Forge fires of integrity.
Hail! Let’s construe the misconstrued!

Post notes:
The Lion of Liberty - Patrick Henry
“As this government stands,” Patrick Henry thundered. “I despise and abhor it….I speak as one poor individual – but when I speak, I speak the language of thousands. If I am asked what is to be done when a people feel themselves intolerably oppressed, my answer is…’overturn the government!’” Henry’s roar of exhortation was not aimed at Britain; it was aimed at The United States, as the thirteen former British colonies considered whether to adopt a new constitution. As he had done a decade earlier in his famed cry for “Liberty of Death,” Henry once again roared for the rights of free men to govern themselves with as few restrictions from government as possible. His roar would reverberate through the ages of American history to this very day.…Patrick Henry is all but forgotten as the first of the Founding Fathers to call for independence, for revolution against Britain, for a Bill of Rights, and for as much freedom as possible from government-American as well as British…Patrick Henry more than earned his epitaph as “The trumpet” of the Revolution for rousing Americans to arms in The Revolutionary War…A bitter foe of The Constitution, he predicted that its failure to limit federal government powers would restore the very tyranny that had provoked the revolution. He warned that The Constitution as written failed to include a Bill of Rights to guarantee freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of the press, trial by jury, redress of grievances and other basic individual rights. Although the First Congress passed some of Henry’s amendments to protect individual liberties, it rejected his demands to impose strict limits on federal powers and safeguard state sovereignty.”

The above quotes are taken from the introduction to the book, “Lion of Liberty, Patrick Henry, The Call To A New Nation” written by Harlow Giles Unger. There is so much more to learn from Patrick Henry! I encourage you to read this book!
