What I ate on a random Thursday

I tracked this day at about 2600 calories which is currently maybe (who actually knows) around my maintenance calories or a little over, and I’m seeing incremental increases on the scale so it shows I’m eating in a surplus on average (my calories fluctuate from 2500-3000 depending on the day I’ve had or what I feel my body needs).

I’ve made a conscious effort to start eating more recently, and not with an old attitude I’ve had before of eating more without tracking and allowing in lots of non optimal foods - instead this time I’m increasing my food from lots of nutrient dense foods, and honestly the results in muscle growth, energy and recovery is massively evident for me and I know that putting this into action consistently for a few months will really give me some epic results.

I wanted to gain a 1kg in September without any fat gain and I’m already at 700g+ (and leaner 😆🤷‍♂️ #science) so it’s going well!

I’m training hard and increased my expenditure as well as intake, and started a goal of ‘do more, eat more, recover more’, instead of what so many of us have fallen into the trap of - ‘do less, eat less, recover less’ and generally run our metabolisms into the ground achieving non existent results in muscle gain or fat loss. 🥺

I got a DM asking whether I actually eat potatoes? Cmon now in 2021 we can finally agree that carbohydrates are a valuable macronutrient that we all need? (Unless you’re genuinely going down the keto route and understanding it). FYI - this day was about 200g carbs, 113g fat, 195g protein. (30%/40%/30%). I just prioritise achieving my protein target and eat F & C in any balance I like on the day around my training and so on.
