Blunt Slams Biden Administration’s Out-of-Control Border Crisis

Yesterday, U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) spoke on the Senate floor to criticize the Biden administration’s continued mishandling of the humanitarian crisis at the southern border. Blunt slammed the administration’s efforts to end Title 42, which allows officials to more quickly turn back individuals attempting to cross the border illegally. As Blunt noted, the Department of Homeland Security recently reported that illegal border crossings have reached the highest levels in the department’s history, more than four times the average monthly number from 2018 to 2020.
Building on a background as a public servant, university president, and teacher, Roy Blunt was elected to the United States Senate in 2010.
Senator Blunt serves as the Chairman of the Senate Republican Policy Committee and as the Chairman of the Senate Rules Committee. He also serves on the Senate Appropriations Committee; the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee; the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence; and the Senate Rules Committee. He is also the Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education.
