PlayStation's "Bench Player" Patent is a BAD Potential Feature

PlayStation had filed this patent back in January 2020, and it was granted earlier this week. This patent essentially allows spectators in online multiplayer games to vote to remove a player from a game or match, either by actually voting, or by monetary means. In other words, paying money to remove them.

I personally don't like this feature because I think it's susceptible to abuse, big time. I can see the trolls now, voting to get a popular streamer out of a match just for the lulz, and thinking about it myself, that does sound somewhat amusing. Nonetheless, it's a feature that has yet to be, well, featured. Hopefully, other platforms don't follow suit.
