The Current State of Racing Games (Early-Mid 2022)

I've been going back and forth between different racing games this past year, ranging from various Need For Speed games to starting Forza Horizons, and even going back to some of the old Midnight Club games. I've been thinking about what the landscape for the genre is like right now, and also what it may look like in the future. I still think the PS2 era was easily the racing genre at its peak, just like how the PS3 and 360 era was a high point for FPS's. What do y'all think? Let me know in the comments down below!
