Lark is a retiring fellow who lives in Richardson, Texas, USA.
He likes simple things - tinkerin', piddlin', whittlin', readin', writin' & doodlin' - and...
... Sweet no-things.
He has no money... no friends or family... that would deign to claim him.
Two smart dogs... and one tough woman... rely on him... to feed, fetch and amuse them.
But the relationship is one of sheer habit... and convenience.
Mostly they leave him to his own devices... because he seems always to have opinions...
... And unfathomable ideas... they've long since tired... of hearing.
One day he hopes to build a secret woodland fort, become a field guide or a camp cook,
Maybe a mind reader - yet he harbors no illusions... he will ever accomplish anything...
... Especially of note.
He dislikes commerce intensely, and insists he is surrounded by lowlifes, criminals...
... And racketeers... whom he variously regards... as obscurantists, syndicalists...
... Or communitarians.
Otherwise he welcomes conversation... and is unfailingly friendly... to all.
