The Normal Process

- You need two or three people to peer review in total, meaning you have to contact between 10 and 20 people. This typically takes 1, 2, 3 weeks or longer.

- Then they have to write feedback on the paper, which often takes one or two weeks.

- After feedback, the author has to write revisions. It is almost unheard of for a paper to be accepted right away.

- Then the paper goes to the typesetter, who puts everything into the format of the journal and sends queries to the editors to check citations.

- Once these queries are answered, the typesetter puts the paper into the format of the journal, and THEN it gets published.

Dr. Simon Goddek: "All these steps can't be done within 24 hours because there's also a night where people are sleeping. Then we're talking about 12 hours. Talk about one day of this happening. It's impossible!"
