Danielle has been fighting for everyday people her entire life. Growing up in suburban Philadelphia, Danielle learned the value of hard work from her parents who made ends meet for their three children while still managing to care for others. Her parents’ community-oriented approach to life instilled in her the critical importance of living a life of compassion towards and service for others. From a young age, Danielle has always prioritized spending her free time volunteering at community organizations and leading through service, like when she organized a community-wide project to deliver Christmas gifts to our troops stationed overseas.

Danielle volunteered in Central America where she participated in a year-long program supporting impoverished and orphaned children in El Salvador and Guatemala. After returning to the U.S., she attended college in South Florida, where she started a career in higher education before settling in Gainesville. Danielle earned a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry from Palm Beach Atlantic University and a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies from Biola University.

Throughout her life, Danielle has consistently advocated for doing what’s right. As an administrator in higher education, she pushed for a more equitable distribution of scholarship funding to permit more low-income students to access international education opportunities. During the height of the pandemic, Danielle organized with local community leaders to secure a safe work environment for university staff and faculty. Most recently, she co-organized the North Central Florida March for Reproductive Freedom and Justice to challenge Republican efforts to reverse landmark civil rights protections. Danielle has demonstrated herself to be a talented, dedicated, and passionate organizer in our community through her political engagement and persistent activism on behalf of the downtrodden, exploited, and impoverished.

Whether it’s pushing for more equitable policies in the workplace, organizing protests for worker safety, or speaking truth to power, Danielle understands how to address the critical issues confronting our community. Danielle is running for Congress because as an active constituent of Florida’s 3rd District and working-class resident of Alachua County, she recognizes that our district’s challenges demand community-first leadership.
