REDTAPE - a delightfully little adventure to get an important document signed by the big man himself

REDTAPE is a delightfully absurd little first person adventure where you try to cut through the bureaucracy of Hell to get an important document signed by the big man himself.

Created for Ludum Dare 48, in REDTAPE you find yourself in Hell with a very important document that you need to get approved by Satan. However, even getting into the devil’s office could take millions of years thanks to the many levels of bureaucracy within Hell. Time to see if you can cut through a little of the red tape and get there a little sooner!

REDTAPE sees you taking an elevator between the various levels of hell and completing little tasks to get the various approvals required to meet the Devil. Aside from one tricky little platforming section it’s pretty easy to complete each task, but it’s the writing and the absurd humor that really makes the game.

There’s a lot of fun to be had while dealing with the red tape of Hell. The visual style is excellent and even though it runs in Unreal Engine 4, it looks and feels very much like a DOOM mod. It’s packed full of great little touches – from your crosshair being an upside-down crucifix to the fact people behind desks don’t have any legs. Bureaucracy is Hell in REDTAPE, but it’s also a Hell of a lot of fun.
