The Urban Friction Fire

I made a bow drill kit with random pieces of wood I found in my garage, just to show my boys how to make the kit itself. I wondered if it was the right combination (hardwood, softwood) for a friction fire, so rather than spending time trying to figure out what kind of wood I had, I tried it. Never exude more energy than you need to in an urban survival situation.

Never give up, even if you fail the first time... some things don’t turn out exactly as you hoped.
