But among Jesus’ disciples…only one was interested in learning how to pray like Jesus.
Only one was curious as he watched Jesus pray...one desired to have a prayer life like Jesus.
The same is true today among His disciples only some in the church have a desire for prayer and want to follow Jesus’ example of prayer.
Prayer; sadly, is not the most important thing in the lives of many Christians today.
But it should be…because prayer is Powerful!
It is one of the most powerful weapons we have been given…along with our sword of the Spirit…they are our only offensive weapons.
Paul wrote in Ephesians six about putting on the whole armor of God…and at the end of that description of the armor he writes:
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. (Ephesians 6:18 NASB)
Our prayers are like the heavy artillery in our spiritual battle…when we pray it is like rolling the big howitzers up the hill and raining shells down upon the enemy.
Shells that repel the attacks of the enemy.
