The Storyteller The King | Bedtime Children's Stories for Kids in English | Story time

This story is all about Terry the Tyrannosaurus. He is the biggest. He is the strongest. He is the best. At least that is what he thinks and tells everyone. But is he really the best dinosaur around? Soon a challenge is given and he must prove his boasts. Terry finds himself in a contest that he must win. He must win or the real "Biggest and Strongest" will eat him.

This children's story was written by myself and my daughter. My daughter Micaela has always loved to tell stories and I decided to record and write one of them. This is the first one we made together. In the story, the first chapter and the last chapter are written entirely by me as a way to introduce my daughter as the storyteller. The rest are all from her imagination (grammar and a little here and there from daddy of course). She was 8 years old when I started writing this story down. Once we had it finished I looked for artists to illustrate this story. After lots of wonderful artists, Micaela chose Juno Abreu. He is a Filipino artist and we both loved his style for the book.

After that, I worked on publishing it and making it into a real book. Micaela was so excited the first time she got her book. She shared it with her friends and told me to give some away haha. I did of course. I loved the book so much that I even hired a voice actress to make it into an audio book for us. She did a much better job that I have in this video but I still wanted to read it myself.

Reading and imagination is so important for children. I hope you all have a wonderful time with this story and fall in love with reading too. You would be amazed at what children are capable of accomplishing with a little encouragement.
