On Wednesday, the FBI arrested a 26-year-old man named Nicholas Roske from Simi Valley, California, for attempting to kill Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh at his Maryland home.

According to court documents, the man said he wanted to kill Kavanaugh and then kill himself. Police said he had a gun, knife, ammunition, hiking boots, and other supplies on him to carry out this crime.

Wait until you hear what his motive was, according to an unsealed affidavit.

This was a cross country murder-suicide attempt. Are we falling short on protecting Supreme Court justices and their families? What more can be done? Who incited this attempted violence? What will corporate news downplay when it comes to motive?

Mike Davis is the founder of the Article 3 Project. He also oversaw the confirmation for Justice Kavanaugh in 2018, as well as served as a law clerk for Justice Gorsuch.
