Chicago Bears Head Coach Matt Eberfls addressed the media on Wednesday June 8th, 2022 after yesterday’s OTAs practice got canceled due to the Bears violating league rules by having “live contact” during some earlier practices. Eberflus said during early Bears OTAs there was some contact. The NFL did not fine the Bears or Eberflus for the misconduct. Eberflus also addressed this week’s pair of practices by saying Justin Fields and the Bears offense had a great day on Monday before the Bears defense bounced back today. Jaylon Johnson was back working with the Bears starting defense and had a nice pass breakup of Fields today. Robert Quinn remained absent from Halas Hall with mandatory minicamp slated for next week.

Bears OTAs news continues with Teven Jenkins receiving 2nd team reps today while Braxton Jones started at left tackle and Larry Borom starting at right tackle. Matt Eberflus says the Bears are still trying out different combinations. Elsewhere, DK Metcalf trade rumors have returned as he hasn’t reported to Seahawks minicamp. Bears GM Ryan Poles previously said that he wouldn’t do a blockbuster trade for a WR, but could that change before the 2022 NFL Season? Metcalf’s skillset with great size and speed would mesh well with QB Justin Fields.
