Pride is Not a Virtue

Why is Pride Month celebrated? Why can’t I go about my daily life, no matter where I am, without having my visual cortex overwhelmed by rainbow flags? Why must the unorthodox sexual practices of an extreme minority of people be forced upon our public consciousness? Why are we accosted if we don’t play along? Why do even many of my gay friends hate the month of June?
Pride is an ugly thing. It wrecks everything it comes into contact with whether that is an individual person or an entire culture.
