Ana is a Wildlife biologist from Arkansas Tech University, who has been working on raptor rehabilitation since 2015 when she started working with the Raptor Education Group Inc in Wisconsin. Ana had to come back to Colombia in 2016 and started working with Fundación Aguilas de los Andes as their biologist/falconer and are starting a diet study of their flagship species, the Black-and-chestnut eagle (Spizaetus isidori). The idea is to study the importance of domestic fowl (especially chickens) and with the results find ways to reduce the conflict and find a way for farmers to coexist with this magnificent eagle. Also part of Project Grandes Rapaces Colombia, a project aimed at studying 7 big raptors in Colombia starting with a nest of Harpy eagle (Harpia harpyja) and a nest of Ornate Hawk-eagle (Spizaetus ornatus) in the Chocó region of Colombia.
