Linda Tirado was looking through her viewfinder of her camera while covering the George Floyd riots in Minneapolis on May 29, 2020.

Then she felt something hit her face abruptly. It was some type of bullet.

The Tennessee journalist is permanently blind in one eye after being shot. Last week, she settled with the City of Minneapolis for about $600,000 to cover medical expenses. She estimates that in her lifetime, depending on several factors, her medical expenses could amount to a few million dollars.

In this eye-opening, full-length interview, Linda discusses her dark sense of humor, her perspectives on covering riots, her current journey in Europe, and what's next for her.
