Cutting Down Trees - A Couple Got A Little Dicey
Today we took down a handful of trees including oak, maple, sweet gum and poplar, that we'll process into firewood for winter 2021 firewood selling season. My firewood business is growing and I've been working to build my firewood inventory as much as I can before Spring hits. I've heard from others that its best to take down trees before the buds break because that's when the moisture content in the wood is the lowest. Felling trees is not my area of expertise, but over the past couple of years, I've grown more comfortable with the process and figuring out how to handle some of the challenges cutting down trees. I also got a major equipment acquisition that I wanted to share with you guys - stick around until the very end for that.
