Maybe Found Some Chokecherry. Is It a Good Smoking Wood?

I've had a few firewood customers ask for smoking woods, so I've been on the lookout on our property for anything that might be good for smoking meat and found this type of cherry by accident.

Chokecherry is native to most of north America, but it doesn't thrive in in the extreme heat and humidity of the southeastern US, which probably explains why I don't see much of it here in Central Virginia.

Let me know if you have any expereince with chokecherry for smoking meat, and if so, describe the flavor for the rest of us!
