This $6 Firewood Measuring Tool is Superior To All Other Methods I've Tried

When measuring firewood, I've tried a variety of methods including chalk, hatchet, using the chainsaw bar as a guide and so on. This this simple trick for firewood measurement has saved me a bunch of time while providing a consistent measurement, and its super-cheap to boot.

Based on the firewood I purchased and resold last year, I now know having a consistent firewood length is part of the formula for selling what appears to be high quality firewood. Consistent firewood length is also easier to stack and deliver.

The tools I primarily use for firewood production are my Champion 27 ton log splitter, Husqvarna 455 Rancher chainsaw, and Stihl MS-181c chainsaw. We have a 43 acre property in central Virginia, and most of the firewood we produce comes from trees we take down ourselves, though we have gotten some wood from tree services and freebies from FB marketplace.
