Why We NEED More History About Music

Right now, the podcast is only available on Patreon. The reason for that is because it needs to be funded by the fans. Content of this level cannot be released on a free platform like YouTube or Podcast providers. Jason is treating it more like a Live Kickstarter. While at first the exclusivity might be hurting the exposure, over time it should be able to get rolled out on more platforms. Until then, the First 50 Gigs podcast will only be available on Patreon. It’s not about making money, it’s about funding the project in the first place.

What is compelling you to create this history of Guns n Roses? Why is it so important to provide this information for the fans? As somebody who has access to this unreleased information about the band, Jason found it important to the fans to get this information out there, as they have been so secretive about providing some history for them. The other reason is that success can bring stories of other major bands out to the public, and First 50 Gigs can become a storytelling platform for everyone. Hopefully over time, the funding CAN get this released on free platforms, but a following needs to be created first.
