Welcome to a new series for Last Movie Outpost, celebrating the movies and film of 1982. It's been 40 years and we look back on the movie year that probably was the most influential in making us movie lovers today.

This week is E.T. The Extra Terrestrial. This is the big dog of that year and overshadowed many of the other classics that came out. It also isn't quite as fondly remembered as many of the others and that's a crime because it easily is one of the best movies ever made.
