Boeing to pay $244 million penalty to settle fraud charges tied to 737 MAX crashes. Boeing has agreed to pay just over $2.5 billion to resolve a federal charge of “criminal misconduct” for how its employees misled regulatory officials during certification of the 737 MAX, the Department of Justice announced Thursday.
