Stewards of the Spring Trail Heads - Clearing out the Road in North Idaho

We decided to scout out the road to Pyramid Lake, in north Idaho, to see how much longer we must wait before we can hike. It takes a while for the snow to melt in north Idaho spring. As of May 28th, 2022, there was still snow about 5 miles from the trail head to Pyramid Lake, Ball Lakes, Trout Lake, and Big Fisher Lake. We weren't equipped to clear 5 miles of snow, but we had a small camping saw with us, and proceeded to clear the fallen trees for mile stretch of Trout Creek Road. We will give the snow another two weeks to melt, and then we will be back to visit Pyramid Lake.
