A unit of Zaporizhzhia Territorial Defence Force destroyed a Russian armoured vehicle attempting to advance into the Ukrainian held territory, the unit member said on Tuesday (May 31).

"This road is where the enemy attempts to break through. Sometimes they succeed, just like this BMP-3 (infantry fighting vehicle) behind my back... They broke through but this is where their attempt ended, ” defender, Andrii Bystryk said.

In recent weeks, Russia has focused its drive on Donbas after pulling back from a failed advance on Kyiv and other Ukrainian regions.
