2 Thessalonians 2:13-17 - Election: Another View

In 2 Thessalonians ch.2, Paul begins by talking about the "Man of Lawlessness" who is to come prior to the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. After speaking about how the "Man of Lawlessness" will deceive many because many hated the truth, Paul gives thanks that the Thessalonian believers were chosen by God "from the beginning".
Calvinists interpret this verse to be a clear indication of God's election of believers from before the world was created. I present my reasons why the Calvinists' interpretation is not only incorrect, but is in fact more dangerous than helpful. And then I'll present the alternative views to understand this verse that would make sense for the original recipients during Paul's time.
