Huangshan Mountain

The Huangshan mountain range in China’s Anhui Province is one of the most most visually recognisable natural formations on earth, and has been the subject of poems and paintings for centuries.

In this visually meditative film from China Revealed we learn about the formation of the mountains and the legends regarding the park, and also look at a couple of the nearby villages which are some of the earliest examples of town planning.

The film mentions that there are over 20,000 ancient poems about the site, and probably something similar in regard to the paintings too, but unfortunately doesn’t read any of the poems of show any of the paintings, which was a missed opportunity.

What is does do though is give long lingering shots taken at the park, and adds suitably eerie ambient music as a backdrop, while providing a very interesting narrative spoken over these wonderful scenic views. A meditation in the form of a film.
