Given the staggering amount of online discussion where fiery nonsense is flung back and forth by hordes of opinionated Monday night quarterbacks, I think I am going to step back a little bit and go through what LPVOs (Low Power Variable Optics) are for, why they came into prominence, what to look for if you are shopping for one, and how to select something that works for your needs. The plan is to talk both scopes an reticles. Naturally, the usual Q&A on whatever comes to mind is to follow.
