The Gamestop Rebellion!

Welcome to the GameStop rebellion! Just to give an idea of why this move by reddit users is hurting hedge funds so much, I will give an analogy.

Imagine you own a house, and are going out of town for a couple weeks. Your neighbor approaches you, asking if they can use the house while you are gone. I know most of you would be a bit suspicious at this request, but lets say you decide to say ok. While you are gone the neighbor decides to sell your house because he knows the market is going to crash over the two weeks you are gone. He will sell it for what its worth now, and then buy it back when the price crashes, then return it to you having made a profit off your house. This scheme works out great so long as the market crashes, but what if the opposite happened? The neighbor is going to have to return your house no matter what. If the price jumps, then he is going to have to buy it back at the higher price, and thus lose money on the scheme.

This is essentially what has happened with GameStop. Some hedge funds were betting that the stock would crash. They sent their cohorts in the media out to tell everybody that the end of GameStop was nigh. They thought the stock would tank, so they shorted it. What they didn't count on was a bunch of people on Reddit catching on to their scheme and purchasing tons of GameStop stock to drive up the price. The hedge fund must return the stock, the only problem is that they sold it. Now they will have to buy it back at the crazy new price.

Hold on though, their partners in crime have come to the rescue. The markets have halted buying of the stocks in question, and have apparently forced some of the owners to sell. All of this is highly illegal, but don't worry, the White House may be involved (on the side of Wallstreet).

At this point it is clear that the entire system is designed to keep everyone down, but with the illusion of freedom. We are not free, we are serfs. They can take all the wealth, and we can only sit in our homes while our jobs are taken, and then get evicted.

In addition to all of this, new channel has a video up, hope you enjoy, I will put a link here: https://youtu.be/L_XbWIXsTnU
