Islam's "Best of People" claim examined vs the unclean, evil non-Muslim

Islam makes strong claims for itself. Are you evil, the worst of creatures, while Mohammed's Ummah are the best people ever to walk the earth, as Allah claims? The Quran, the scholiarly Tafsir and the Hadith discuss Mohammedans as the best of all people ever on earth. The Unbeliever is evil, the worst of creatures. Let's examine this, draw comparisons and examine the Sharia, as always.
