Let's start something new

Since coming back to the United States I have been dismayed by the dramatic changes happening with our cultural institutions. An example is football, once the bastion for the ultra patriotic masculine type, now it is a center for critical race theory. A lot of people have been upset by these changes, and I suddenly came to the realization that we don't need them. If the institutions have gone askew of their original purpose then maybe we should just make new ones?

One of those institutions is the Nobel Peace Prize. Like many other institutions, this one seems to make a lot of its prize determinations based on political alignments. Wouldn't it be simple enough to simply create a new prize and institution that does not take politics into consideration?

The same thing goes for the Oscars. If we are tired of the Oscar going to films that towed the line politically, then why not create our own prize that will hand out a prize or ranking based on artistic quality?

I really don't know why I, or anyone else for that matter, have not simply come to this conclusion. If the old institutions are corrupt, then its time to simply walk away from them and make new ones.
