"The car was smoking... Fuck they blew up or what?!"

RT correspondent Zhdanov: "Came under shelling at the entrance to Severodonetsk. One of the shells landed exactly on the escort vehicle five to ten meters in front of us, which included a two-man Reuters film crew. At first it seemed that they had hit a mine: the car turned over on its side and caught fire. The escort driver died on the spot, journalists in the hospital. Our group is fine. They were hitting precisely: they waited until we drove into what turned out to be a targeted section of the road, and only then did they start firing, correcting from a drone. And yes, both of our cars were civilian. The Reuters guys are (almost) fine. One has a broken arm, the other has a hole in the leg. On their own, they are moving to Lugansk. And this is after a direct hit on the hood."

It is reported that Zhdanov said Ukrainian forces were responsible for the artillery, but I could not independently confirm him saying that.
