We are a homeschooling family with five kids at home, six kids total. Our channel is about large family life, homeschooling, and finding the blessing in everyday. I am currently homeschooling a teenager, two elementary aged children and a preschooler. (I am also homeschooling our toddler-but some people don’t consider that homeschool-I do!)

In Today’s #short I share how I teach my children to spell without a fight. Homeschool Spelling tips are a life saver! Teaching homeschoolers to spell can seem like a daunting task sometimes. Spelling lists and spelling tests did not go over well in this house. I had to get creative. I let my kids try to stump me. They can pick words out of whatever book they are reading and ask me to spell it. We do about five to seven words at a time and my children check my spelling afterwards. Little do they know I am tricking them! Sometimes I mess up the words intentionally to have them correct them for me-but sometimes they actually stump me! This is the best way I have found to teach my children to spell with zero fight at all.

Not everyday is easy, but everyday is a blessing.
