First of all here are a couple of video links relating to this project and my welding skills. Here is a video of this home made disc chisel plow in action on some raw land that we created new food plots on:

Now for today's episode. If you watch the first video above, and of course today's video, you will see that the two center notched cutting discs on my home made disc chisel plow contstantly clog up with dirt and clay, which reduces the digging depth of the rest of the tractor implement by causing the whole thing to 'float' up on the surface of the dirt. So, in today's episode I plan to cure that! I'll dig through my steel scrap bin to find just the right piece of implement steel to fabricate a new dirt cleaner, aka 'dirt lip,' to weld on in order to keep those 2 center discs clean from dirt, clay and other debris. This should greatly enhance the way this unit works in the future. Also in this video I'll give a quick update on the future plans for this awesome tractor implement since I've added a harrow rake to improve it even more. I plan to add on a new 24" hydraulic cylinder to make the whole thing operable from the tractor cab, in order to raise and lower the newly added harrow rake. The harrow will also replace my current ATV drag system, as I will be able to raise up the disc chisel, but still be able to lower and use only the new harrow rake to level dirt and for excellent soil and seedbed preparation! This projects is pretty exciting! Definitely stay tuned to Kapper Outdoors to see this whole implement completed and working up new food plot dirt for some clients and friends this spring!
