During the recent World Economic Forum meeting at Davos, Alibaba Group President Michael Evans said that Alibaba is working on a mobile app that could track an individual users carbon footprint, and even have users “earn points” for “earth-friendly habits”. This is similar to the social-credit system which China already has, but under the guise of being "green."
