Livestock Guardian School Starts Today

Virgil is our 11 week old livestock guardian dog and it’s his first day on the job. Virgil is a Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix and when he gets older he’ll be watching over our goat herd in the fields. Protecting is instinctual for him but he will need some training and that training starts today.

In this video Megan goes over our training objectives for the pup and introduces him to our three goats. Our herd will be growing in the coming months so Virgil will have his hands (paws) full.
