Centerville police release dashcam video of officer stopping wrong way driver

The Centerville Police Department on Thursday released footage from an officer's dash cam as she stopped a wrong-way driver on I-15.

The incident happened March 21 in Farmington, when a vehicle was traveling south in northbound lanes.

“Traffic was backed up, intersections are blocked, there’s tons of traffic trying to get to Legacy Parkway and I-15 at that time, we have hundreds of cars and I didn’t want him to go through Parrish Lane,” officer Alex Farnes told 2News at the time.

She was driving in the area and saw the car coming southbound up the onramp. She hit the vehicle with her cruiser, successfully stopping it.

The man behind the wheel was impaired, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
